How We Work
What working with Intellect Technologies looks like
Our process, what you own, how we handle security and support, and the ways we can engage. Written for the person who has to explain the decision internally.
From first call to go-live
1. Discovery conversation
A free, no-obligation call to understand the problem, the people involved and the systems in play. We tell you honestly whether we are the right fit and whether you need custom work at all.
2. Scoping and written proposal
We document the problem, the proposed solution, what is in and out of scope, assumptions, risks, timeline and cost. Larger or less certain work can start with a paid discovery phase.
3. Design
Workflows, data model, integrations and interface are designed and reviewed with you before build. Where it matters, prototypes are tested with real users.
4. Build
Delivered in short iterations with regular demos of working software. You see progress and can change direction early, when it is cheapest.
5. Testing and launch
Testing against agreed acceptance criteria, user acceptance testing with your team, a rollout plan and, for critical systems, a parallel run or staged release.
6. Support and improvement
After go-live we monitor, fix and improve under a support or retainer arrangement, or hand over to your team with documentation.
Our commitments
You own what we build
Source code, configuration, data and documentation belong to you, agreed in writing before work starts. We avoid proprietary lock-in and document systems so another team could maintain them.
Senior people do the work
You work directly with the architect leading your project, not a project manager relaying messages. Our delivery partners in India and Singapore add capacity under that leadership.
Honest advice
If an off-the-shelf tool will do, we say so. If a project is not ready, or we are not the right supplier, we say that too.
Clear scope and change control
Scope is written down. Changes are discussed, estimated and agreed before work proceeds, so there are no surprise invoices.
Plain communication
Regular progress updates, visible backlogs and a named point of contact. Problems are raised early.
Security and data handling
Access control
Role-based access, least-privilege integrations and strong authentication, including multi-factor where appropriate.
Data protection
Encryption in transit and at rest. Data handling aligned with the Privacy Act 2020, with retention and residency agreed up front.
Environments and change control
Separate development, test and production environments. Changes are reviewed and released in a controlled way with rollback plans.
Audit and monitoring
Audit logging of material actions and monitoring of integrations and system health, with alerts to a named person.
Third parties
We choose hosting and service providers deliberately and tell you which ones your data touches. We can work with your security review or vendor assessment process.
AI use
Where AI is used, we agree what data it sees, where it is processed and what it is allowed to do. Important decisions keep a person in the loop.
Ways to engage
Fixed-scope project
A defined outcome, scope and timeline. Best when requirements are clear.
Phased delivery
A roadmap delivered in releases. Best for larger platforms where priorities will change.
Discovery first
A short, defined engagement that produces a plan and estimate you own, with no obligation to continue.
Support or retainer
Ongoing monitoring, fixes and improvements for systems we built or have reviewed.
